Need I write anything more about the power outage that other people haven’t covered already on status updates, tweets, posts, or my new favorite social media tool WUPHFS. 

Well other than taking terrifying showers in the dark (in which I made a little bearable by playing Someone like you on my ipod full volume) the power outage didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. It was very cleansing of sorts to be void of all electronics, just to see how much we need them in everyday use is mind boggling.

Around 4 A.M Sunday, the power came back on at my house and it scared the living hell out of me. I was asleep and in the middle of a reoccurring dream I have where I’m being chased by the zombified cast of Harry Potter….(I should probably get more into that in another post) but that is when my TV turned on and then just static. Its human nature when we get scared, our minds go to the worse possible outcome. I immediately thought to myself “OH shit the ring girls here to murder me…..shouldn’t of watched that video 7 days ago”.

Now my first reaction was to reach for my phone that’s on my bedside table, and hurl it towards my TV. I was hoping that it would hit the ring girl in the head hard enough that she’d get a concussion, giving me time to make a daring escape out the window…..admittedly not my best idea, probably because I was still drunk from that one and a half beers I had earlier that night. But nevertheless, I clutched my brick of an Iphone in my right hand and cocked it back as if I were throwing a hail mary pass and right before I followed through my cable box turned on. And what is it that I see, an infomercial for the new snuggie. 

I went from pissing my pants scared and almost destroying my TV and phone to utter disbelief that AMERICA would create another version of the snuggie all within five seconds. Now thats one hell of a way to wake up.

Other than the 20 candles that I bought and now have no use for, the power outage wasn’t that bad.
